ABOUT US
Las Vegas Scouting America Troop 770 is two Scout troops — 1 for girls and 1 for boys. We are part of Scouting America (formerly BSA Scouts, formerly Boy Scouts of America) in Las Vegas and offer a year-round program that helps develop character, leadership and outdoor skills with the outdoors as our learning platform. If you are looking for a Scouting America troop for your family (we have lots of siblings in our Troop) in Las Vegas, you’ve come to the right place!
Giving Back
As a part of the Las Vegas community, Scouting America Troop 770 is dedicated to giving back. In addition to our Eagle Projects from our Life Scouts seeking to attain the rank of Eagle, we actively participate in local service projects, environmental conservation efforts, and community-building initiatives. Our commitment to giving back is an integral part of our troop's values, and we strive to make a positive impact in our communities among the Las Vegas valley.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Visit a Meeting

Las Vegas Scouting America Troop 770 is dedicated to providing a year-round program that fosters character development, leadership skills, and outdoor expertise. Our emphasis on leadership, service and community using the outdoors as a learning platform, setting the stage not only for rank advancement, but also for memorable experiences and personal growth.
The best way to determine whether our Troop is for you, is to visit and observe an/or participate in a meeting. Sometimes it takes a couple of visit, but the only way to know is to get started, so come on by.
Scout-Led
Each unit (boys and girls) is Scout-led, employing the Patrol-method, and elects its own Scout leadership, i.e., Patrol Leaders and officers, and a Senior Patrol Leader. Each Patrol has 9-12 Scouts. There is a Senior Patrol Leader for the boys unit and for the girls unit, and each SPL has an Assistant SPL. The SPLs oversee the Patrol Leaders.
Meetings are planned monthly by the Patrol Leadership Council (PLC) which consist of the SPLs, ASPLs, Patrol Leaders and adult leadership (overseeing). Planning is based on the calendared events and core skill focus for the month.
A big annual Planning Meeting occurs every Spring where the PLC and key (and interested) adult leadership meets to create our calendar of events and monthly core skills focus for the next school year.
Eagle Rank
If you attend meetings and participate in our activities (campouts, service projects, hikes, etc.) regularly, you are accomplishing just about everything you need to rank up from Scout to Tenderfoot, Second Class and then First Class. All you have to do is pay attention and realize all you are doing is meeting the requirements. From First Class, you will impart all the skills and knowledge you have learned to other Scouts, and now you're advancing to Star, then Life, then Eagle.
While 4-6% of eligible scouts reach Eagle within Scouting American,10-30% of our troop achieve Eagle, annually. That percentage also reflects the growth of our Troop from about 12 boys and 8 girls we had in 2022 to 57 boys and 20 girls in 2026.
